Overview

The Strategic Account Manager works to lead commercial activities within assigned territories, foster relationships with healthcare providers, and support the successful rollout of Chimerix’s innovative oncology products. This field-based role involves direct customer and KOL interactions in clinics and hospitals, focusing on improving patient access to Chimerix therapies.

 

  • Engage effectively with customers through both virtual and in-person interactions.
  • Develop and execute a territory business plan to achieve and exceed annual goals set by commercial leadership.
  • Promote Chimerix products within approved labeling in an ethical and compliant manner, aligned with regulatory guidelines.
  • Build strong relationships by understanding and addressing customer needs.
  • Serve as a conduit to customers to answer questions on payer policies, prior authorizations including benefit verification, prior authorizations, and appeals processes.
  • Leverage marketing resources to enhance customer relationships, increasing confidence in prescribing Chimerix therapies.
  • Communicate territory activity accurately and in a timely manner to management.
  • Provide valuable feedback to leadership, marketing, and internal teams regarding the evolving market environment.
  • Complete required training programs and fulfill administrative duties promptly.
  • Manage efforts within an assigned promotional budget.
  • Collaborate across corporate functions to achieve business goals.
  • Attend medical congresses and society meetings as necessary.
  • Support timely patient access through patient services and savings programs.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a customer-facing or account management role, with a proven record of delivering results.
  • At least 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology Oncology and/or Hematology sales, preferably in oncology, rare diseases, or a related specialty.
  • Oncology/Hematology experience required, rare disease experience preferred and product launch experience are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and utilize resources to meet business meet business goals and achieve sales growth
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
