Overview

The Director of Field Access Navigation plays a crucial role in ensuring timely access to dordaviprone and support services for patients. This position will collaborate with our Specialty Pharmacy, support services HUB, Field Sales, and Market Access to oversee case management across the nation. 

 

The Director FAN will serve as the Chimerix key point of contact and leadership voice for case related issues and inquiries.

  • Serve as the Chimerix key point of contact for case related issues and inquiries.  Collaborate and Communicate with Field Sales, Market Access, Specialty Pharmacy, and Patient Services team regarding payer policies, coverage obstacles, and all case management items requiring action to obtain product access for patients.
  • Problem Solving: Lead without authority and partner with the sales team, patient hub, and Specialty Pharmacies to support accounts with coverage issues and patients facing insurance delays. Use problem-solving skills to address concerns at both the system and individual case level.
  • Raise awareness, triage obstacles and recommend actions to the appropriate Chimerix colleague to efficiently get dordaviprone to patients after the HCP has written the prescription.
  • Escalate complex coverage/case challenges to leadership and travel as needed to work directly with provider offices to move cases forward.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with an identified set of key accounts.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on case-related conversion trends, challenges, and the impact on product access.
  • Support the development of educational materials, resources and training for internal and external stakeholders on access related topics and patient services programs.

Qualifications

Job Specifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Nursing, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or other) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in field reimbursement, market access, or patient services related areas within the healthcare industry, with a focus on Oncology.
    • Experience in a field-based, customer facing role is required.
    • Experience building functionality/ capability in a fast-paced environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of payer systems, coverage processes, and healthcare regulations (e.g., CMS, Medicaid, commercial payers).
    • Proven success in overcoming coverage barriers and facilitating patient access to therapies.
    • Proven ability to lead cross functionally without authority.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, coach, and motivate others.
    • Strong intellectual curiosity with a desire to be involved in several facets of the overall Market Access function (materials/resource development, strategy, distribution, etc).
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, healthcare providers, and external partners.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to simplify and interpret data and trends.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm when issues arise.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Additional Information:
    • Travel required on an as needed basis to the home office, Specialty Pharmacy, and key accounts.
