Overview

TALENT ACQUISITION MANAGER:

We are actively recruiting for an energetic and experienced associate to lead our Talent Acquisition efforts. This new position, reporting to the Head of Human Resources, will develop and oversee Chimerix recruitment and talent acquisition strategies. This role is responsible for developing and implementing effective talent acquisition plans, sourcing top-tier candidates, and building a strong talent pipeline.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  2. Proven experience in talent acquisition and recruitment, with a track record of success in one or more leadership roles
  3. 5+ years recruiting in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, experience with Oncology strongly preferred
  4. Strong strategic vision and ability to align talent acquisition strategies with Chimerix business objectives
  5. Expertise in talent sourcing, attracting top-tier candidates, and developing a strong talent pipeline
  6. Experience in employer branding initiatives leveraging social media platforms
  7. Data-driven decision-making skills, with an ability to analyze metrics and optimize processes
  8. Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building abilities to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and optimize the recruiting motion in areas such as:
    • Staffing requisition generation/approvals
    • Intake meetings with hiring leaders to fully understand position requirements
    • Posting open positions, with an emphasis on professional organizations and social media platforms
    • Initial candidate identification and, if necessary, calibration with hiring managers
    • Interviews
    • Candidate selection
    • Onboarding process
  • Own recruitment agency partnerships to include:
    • Ensure contracts are in place
    • Understand each agency’s value proposition
    • Make agency recommendations to hiring managers for roles that will be difficult to fill
  • Understand and convey the Chimerix employee value proposition to candidates
  • Continuously improve applicable processes to include recommendations in technology, AI, and social media
  • Partner with HR Leader and Finance on any “out of band” compensation recommendations
  • Establish key hiring metrics and performance goals; share with HR Leader
  • Such other responsibilities that the Company may assign.
